More than half of children under eight years of age brush their teeth only once each day, while that should actually happen twice a day. Furthermore, at the age of two years, the age at which children have to go and have their teeth checked, only one child in ten goes with its parents to the dentist.

This is reported by Siska Germonpré of the Socialist Mutual Health Fund. With their campaign ‘Show your teeth’, they are hoping to bring this problem to wider notice.

During their campaign week, which ran from 12 to 19 October, teams from the Socialist Mutual Health Fund handed out fliers and cute little finger dolls, to call attention to caring for milk teeth. Besides a fun game, children could also win a nice package. .

AMAB supported this social campaign by assembling 8,000 packages that consisted of a toothbrush and a water mug, which were then brought to the various event locations. In this way, we also made a small contribution to good dental hygiene for our youth.
